TechHouse’s Healthy Business and Healthy Lives: Do It Yourself IT Health Checks: Performance

We have all had those days where we sit down to work and our computers start running slow. Some call it the Monday blues, some call it the Friday meltdown. This week’s blog post will help you fix these issues. Microsoft has a great how-to on this, but I’ll summarize it for you.

The first thing you should do is check to make sure your windows updates and computer’s drivers are up to date. You can learn how to do this by checking out this blog post

Next, go ahead and restart your computer, once the computer turns back on, pull up the program that you need.

If your computer is still having issues, give us a call, or if you’re a do-it-yourselfer and are good with computers, try these next steps.

Go to your task manager, from there go to additional details and then select performance. This is where you can find information such as your RAM.

Now, check your memory, if you are running low on space, empty your recycle bin. This may also be a great time to consider moving to The Cloud. We would be more than happy to explain this, and why The Cloud benefits you, give us a call and we will go over it with you.

If these steps do not fix your computer troubles, call and let us know so we can help fix it.
