Selecting Practice Management Systems
This half day instructor-led clinic introduces students to the differences in modern practice management systems. It is geared towards the small and medium practice administrator or billing manager that needs to take a proactive role in modernizing their administrative systems in light of the significant changes coming with ICD-10 and EMR implementations. This clinic will specifically target the administrative impact of mandated changes to the Insurance billing scheduling and recordkeeping functions of a practice.
Choosing an Integrated EMR
This one-day instructor-led course provides students the basic tools needed to successfully choose an EMR. Detailed case histories of successful and failed installations will be used to train students in how to avoid the pitfalls and select the best answer for their organizations specific needs. Students will understand how to properly sort through the different sales presentations, how to quantify requirements and how to compare vendor proposals.
EMR Implementation Strategies and Planning
This one-day instructor-led course is targeted to the project leader implementing a first EMR in an independent healthcare practice.
At the end of the course the student will have the tools to explain the significant changes that an EMR will bring to the practice. They will be able to identify and plan for the needed changes in workflow and identify and differentiate the roles and responsibilities of the clinical and Administrative staff. Proper use of internal staff, vendor training, vendor support staff and outside consultant roles will be discussed.
EMR Security Considerations
This half day instructor-led clinic introduces students to the new security requirements that Electronic Medical Records impose on a small or midsize healthcare organization. At the end of the clinic the student will be familiar with the updates to HIPAA security rules and the practical application of these rules to the everyday operations of a Healthcare practice.
